Read this before you use any number here
These are self-reported student results, not cut-offs. Each one is something a student wrote about their own application on a public forum. Nobody has checked any of them against a university's records.
They lean high. Students who receive offers post far more often than students who miss out, so the picture is of people who got in, not of what a university requires.
They mix different kinds of applicant. Rural, equity and interstate applicants are often selected separately, and many posts do not say which the student was.
Requirements change every year. Where a university publishes its own figure, that figure is the one to trust, and it is shown here first.
How to read the tables
- Percentiles first, totals second. A percentile means the same thing in every year, so the tables compare percentiles. Totals are given beside them, always with the scale they were out of.
- Middle percentile: half the students who reported were above it and half below.
- Middle half: the range that the central half of reports fell in. A quarter were below it and a quarter above.
- Nine in ten at or above: only one report in ten was lower than this. It is a better guide to the low end than the single lowest post, which may be a special pathway or a typing mistake.
- A dash means fewer than 5 students reported, which is too few to say anything.
Why older totals look higher. Up to 2025 entry the test had four scored subtests, one of them Abstract Reasoning, and the total was out of 3600. Abstract Reasoning was then removed, so from 2026 entry the total is out of 2700. A 3140 for 2025 entry and a 2380 for 2026 entry look 760 points apart, yet they were the 93rd and 94th percentiles: almost the same standing. Compare percentiles across years, never totals.

Read across, not down. A university with a lower middle is not easier to get into: it may weigh school results or the interview more heavily, take more rural applicants, or simply have fewer posts.

Rural applicants report lower percentiles
Where enough students said they were rural applicants, their reported percentiles were clearly lower. Most universities select rural applicants separately, which is why a single "cut-off" for a university is usually misleading.
| University | Said they were rural | Reports | Everyone else | Reports |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UNSW Sydney | 80th | 12 | 95th | 67 |
| Charles Sturt University | 64th | 6 | 91st | 6 |
| University of Newcastle and University of New England | 79th | 11 | 95th | 53 |
| Monash University | 80th | 12 | 96th | 36 |
| Adelaide University | 80th | 9 | 96th | 43 |
| University of Tasmania | 69th | 11 | 86th | 15 |
"Everyone else" includes students who did not say either way, so the true gap may be wider.

University by university
For each university: first what it publishes itself, then what students have reported, year by year. The year-by-year figures are only the results students chose to report, and a year with few reports can be moved a long way by two or three posts.

Questions students ask about these figures
Is a score that students reported the same as a cut-off?
No. A cut-off is the lowest result a university accepted in one year for one group of applicants, and only the university knows it. A reported score is one that a student chose to post. The lowest report is simply the lowest that somebody posted.
Why do most universities publish no UCAT cut-off?
Because there is rarely one number. Most rank applicants on a mix of the UCAT, school results and an interview, and select rural, equity and interstate applicants separately. The result needed changes each year with the number of places and with who applies.
Why are the figures in percentiles and not total scores?
The total changed from a score out of 3600 to one out of 2700 with the 2025 test, so totals from different years cannot be set side by side. A percentile means the same thing every year: the share of candidates who scored below you.
Why do rural applicants report lower percentiles?
Most universities keep a share of places for applicants from rural areas and rank them against each other, not against everyone. Fewer applicants compete for those places, so the results that students report with a rural offer are lower.
My percentile is below the middle for my first choice. Should I still apply?
Half of the students who reported an offer were below the middle, so being under it rules nothing out. Look at the middle half and at the mark nine in ten were above, then read what the university itself says about how it ranks applicants. Listing a course costs little; leaving it off guarantees no offer.
How reliable are these reports?
Treat them as a rough guide. Nobody has checked them, students who get in post more often than those who miss out, and a year with few reports can be moved a long way by two or three posts. Where a university publishes its own figure, use that.
What this cannot tell you
- Whether you will get in. No table of other people's results can.
- A minimum. The lowest score reported is the lowest that someone chose to post, not the lowest a university accepted.
- This year's requirement. It moves with the number of places and with who applies.
- Anything about University of Auckland or University of Otago. Too few students from those universities posted to say anything.
What you can do with it is see the range, notice how much rural and non-rural applicants differ, and set a target that is realistic for the universities on your list. What is a good score? explains how, and the score calculator turns a total into a percentile.
Where the reports come from
Students have long shared their results in public threads on Med Students Online, an Australian forum for applicants, using a set format: the university, the outcome, their UCAT percentile, their ATAR and whether they applied as a rural applicant. We counted 1,174 such posts for 2021 to 2026 entry, as they stood on 8 October 2026. Only totals are shown: no names, usernames or individual posts. Where a group has fewer than 5 reports we give the count and nothing more.
If you posted one of those results and would rather it were not counted, tell us and we will take it out.
