Applying for 2028 entry?

This page sets out the rules for entry in 2027, which used the 2026 test. Universities usually publish the next year's rules in the first half of the year. Most carry over with small changes, so this is a sound guide to what to expect, but read Charles Sturt's own pages before you apply.

Courses

  • Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine) / Doctor of Medicine, five years, run jointly with Western Sydney University. Years 1 and 2 are at Orange, then rural clinical schools.
  • Bachelor of Dental Science, five years, at Orange.

How Charles Sturt uses the UCAT

  • For dental science, UAC lists a minimum of the 50th percentile overall for domestic applicants, with UCAT performance deciding who is invited to interview.

Published scores and cut-offs

Charles Sturt University does not publish UCAT cut-offs on the pages we checked. Scores and percentiles shows where a total sits among all candidates.

School results and subjects

  • Medicine: a minimum ATAR of 95.50, or 91.50 under the Rural Entry Admission Scheme.
  • No subjects are required for medicine. Mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics are recommended.

The interview

How to apply

  • Apply through UAC.
  • For 2027 entry, UAC applications for medicine closed on 25 September 2026, with interviews in November and first offers on 8 January 2027.

The UCAT is booked separately from your university application, months earlier. See the UCAT dates and fees.

Places

  • Numbers are not stated. At least half the dental science places are set aside for rural, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants.

Rural, Indigenous and other entry pathways

  • Rural Entry Admission Scheme.
  • A separate First Nations entry process with a panel interview.

Also worth knowing

  • Dental science applicants from rural or First Nations backgrounds upload a supplementary form.

What this means for your preparation

Whatever the weighting, a higher UCAT total widens your options, because most applicants apply to more than one university. Start with the twelve-week plan, and try the free practice questions to see where you stand.
