What the dates mean for you
- Book early. You choose your own date, time and test centre when you book, and the popular sessions fill. Booking in March gives you the widest choice.
- Choose your date with your school year in mind. Early July falls in the school holidays in most states. A later date gives more preparation time but sits closer to trial exams.
- Apply for a concession or access arrangements first. Both must be approved before you book, and both close in mid May. See extra time and access arrangements.
- The late deadlines cost money. Booking after the main deadline adds a late fee that is not refunded.
Fees, 2026
Fees are in Australian dollars and are set each year.
| Item | Fee | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Test sat in Australia or New Zealand | $335 | |
| Concession (Australia only) | $240 | For candidates named on a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card |
| Test sat overseas | $405 | |
| Late booking | + $85 | Not refundable |
| Final late booking | + $185 | Not refundable |
| Cancelling before the refund deadline | $50 kept | No refund after the deadline |
| Rescheduling close to the test | $25 | Free until late June, then up to 24 hours before the appointment |
If you miss your appointment, or are turned away because your identification is not accepted, the fee is lost and you pay again to rebook. Test day explains what identification is accepted.
How booking works
- Create an account with the test provider through the official UCAT ANZ site, using your name exactly as it appears on your photo identification.
- If you need a concession or access arrangements, apply and wait for the outcome.
- Book a date, time and test centre, and pay the fee.
- You can move your appointment free of charge until late June, and for a small fee after that until 24 hours beforehand.
After the test
You receive an email within about 24 hours, and your score report is then in your account. You do not send your result to universities yourself: they receive it directly in early September. Your result counts for that year's admissions round only. Scores and percentiles explains how to read it.
