What to tell a student who wants to study medicine
- Most undergraduate medicine and dentistry courses in Australia and New Zealand require the UCAT ANZ, sat in the year before entry.
- It is a two-hour computer test of reasoning, not of school subjects, and it is sat once a year.
- Universities use it differently: as a threshold, to rank for interview, or as a share of the final ranking. School results still matter most.
- The result is valid for one year of applications. A student can sit again the following year.

10 free places for your school: Term 4, 2026
This term we are giving each school places for up to 10 students who are seriously considering medicine or dentistry. Each place is full access to PrepForDoc for 30 days: every mock exam, the whole question bank and the analysis. There is no charge, no card is asked for, and nothing renews. Every question is answered independently a second time and its arithmetic and diagrams are verified before you see it, and a passage or data set is used only if every question on it passes.
- We send you a link for your school. You choose who to give it to; the students do the rest themselves.
- The link works for 10 students. Each student's 30 days start on the day they use it.
- It must be used by 18 December 2026. It suits Year 10 and 11 students who want to start before the summer.
- If you have more than 10 students who would use it, tell us in the form and we will see what we can do.
Tell us a little about your school and we will send the link and a short note you can pass on to the students you choose.
